It’s a fair question. Weather is one of the few parts of your wedding day you simply can’t control — but that doesn’t mean it has to create stress or take away from the experience.
At Gabrella Manor, we don’t just have a rain plan — we have a system.
We Don’t Rush the Call
One of the biggest mistakes couples make is assuming they have to decide too early.
Forecasts shift constantly, especially during spring and summer in Alabama. We’ve seen it rain all day and stop just before the ceremony. We’ve also had brides choose to walk down the aisle outside in a light sprinkle because it still felt right for their day.
That’s why we don’t force an early decision.
If rain is in the forecast, we wait with you and make the call as late as responsibly possible — sometimes even 30 minutes before ceremony time — so you have the best chance of getting the day you envisioned.
We’re Already Ready
The biggest difference? We already have the plan in place. If the weather holds off, we’ll make sure your outdoor ceremony space is clean, dry, and ready to go.
If you decide to move, we’re ready to flip to the Pavilion quickly and smoothly — with no scrambling, confusion, or stress on your end.
The Pavilion Isn’t Just a Backup
Our Pavilion serves as both our rain plan ceremony space and reception space, which means our team is highly experienced at making that transition happen fast and seamlessly. We’ve truly perfected the switch.
If your ceremony moves under cover, our team knows exactly how to get everything in place and then prepare the Pavilion for reception immediately after — all while keeping the day flowing smoothly.

If it rains, your wedding isn’t ruined — the plan just adjusts. Whether you decide to stay outside for a light drizzle or move under cover, we’re prepared either way and ready to move when you are.
